Memorandum of RKDF and DIAP on the project support of livestock production

The Russian – Kyrgyz Development Fund and the Department of Implementation of Agricultural Projects (DIAP) signed the memorandum of cooperation on the "Ensuring Access to the Markets".  Press service of RKDF reported about it.

The document was signed by the head of RKDF - Erkin Asrandiyev and the director of DIAP Saparbek Tynayev. The project assumes support of development of livestock production. The total cost of the Project – 55.4 million US dollars.

Relevance of the project is caused by accession of Kyrgyz Republic to Eurasian Economic Union that opened for agricultural producers not only new opportunities in selling of the products, but also pushed on more active solution of the available problems.

There is purpose to promote and increase income and strengthening of economic growth in pasturable communities. The second target is improvement of access for small cattle-farmers to the favorable markets for their products and their integration at these markets. It will lead to increase and more equitable distribution of income.

RKDF will give support by granting the credits for the beneficiaries of the Project corresponding requirements of the Fund, including both direct financing, and crediting through financial credit institutions bank- partners of RKDF.

The total cost of the project is 55.4 million US dollars. The law on ratification of the agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and DIAP on financing was signed by the President of Kyrgyz Republic on April 24, 2018. The project is financed by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the government of the Kyrgyz Republic, for a period of 5 years (2018-2023)

The project consists of four components:


∙ "Development of chains of added value of livestock products" (15.6 million US dollars);


∙ "Financing of chains of added value of livestock products" (25.7 million US dollars);


∙ "Modernization of a sanitary system of livestock production of Kyrgyzstan" (11.3 million US dollars);


∙ Project management" (1.6 million US dollars).
